Rantan: The Japanese Lanterns
- Handcrafted by Skilled Artisans
- Adaptable for Indoor or Outdoor
Originally, lanterns had the shape of a basket with a handle, which was the pattern encountered in China from the 14th to the 17th century. Gradually the shape developed, and the ancestors of the collapsible kind you see during Japanese festivals began to appear frequently at the end of the 16th century.
