Hashi: The Japanese Chopsticks
- Emon "Japanese Chopsticks"
- Anti-Bacterial and Hygienic
Chopsticks were originally kitchen utensils that were used to keep the fire burning. However, after a strong taxation on metal materials in the 3rd century people started to use chopsticks to eat directly from their plate. This practice was quickly spread in China, Thailand, Vietnam and Korea. Each country gradually adopted its own chopsticks. In Japan, for example, they are known to be slightly shorter than their counterparts, rather pointed at the end and of a rounded shape unlike the Chinese square chopsticks and can be made either from Wood or Steel.
