In Japan, household furniture is very low and Western chairs are replaced by zabuton placed on the tatami floor. This cushion is a flat and is used for tea ceremony, eating, watching TV or other daily activities. Traditionally, this cushion has a square shape and is between 40 cm and 70 cm on a side and a few centimeters thick. When the zabuton is thicker, it is called zafu and is used as a yoga cushion. When meditating, it is important to sit comfortably on your cushion in order to find inner peace.
